Aaron Heaps

Mr. Heaps joined Medallion Bank in November 2017, bringing with him 20 years of Information Technology experience in the banking community. Previously Mr. Heaps held the position of Chief Information Officer for Optum Bank, a subsidiary of United Health Group, for 10 years. There he oversaw their information security program which included Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, Vendor Management, Physical and Information Security, and the Information Systems Strategy.

Prior to Optum, Mr. Heaps served as Vice President/Chief Technical Officer with Premier Data Corporation, a bank data processing company, for 10 years. There he oversaw the technology infrastructure and strategy for supporting numerous community and industrial banks, as well as managed the technical aspects of bank conversions to Premier Data’s platform. He brought with him 12 years of experience with Fiserv’s ITI banking platform. At Premier Data Mr. Heaps worked very closely with internal & external auditors as well as the state and federal examiners, ensuring that data security and privacy was a top priority. Prior to that Mr. Heaps managed IT for First Utah Bank for 4 years where he implemented new infrastructure and policies to support the rapid growth of the bank.

Mr. Heaps graduated cum laude from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
